Engagements at Tibble Fork

Oh my goodness these photos! I still can’t believe how they turned out. I was so stressed and anxious about them because due to a few setbacks, we didn’t get up to Tibble Fork Reservoir until after 8 PM! The sun is currently setting around 9 which means golden hour (the best time to take photos) is from 7pm to 9pm. You can usually stretch that a bit as the sun is still visible a bit over the horizon, but that doesn’t apply to mountain locations or locations in canyons – like Tibble Fork. Usually I say that sunset in the canyon is going to be 1 hour before the sunset would be in the valley. And if you can do the simple math, that means I would want to be ending my session at 8, not just starting it.

Can you see why I was stressing?

I was honestly already thinking of backup plans in my head about meeting up again with Cameron and Kiersten so that we could get all the images they wanted because I didn’t think we’d be able to get that many. However, I surprised even myself. Cause look at these stunning images! The two of them are just glowing! And we had such beautiful light.

Tibble Fork is a fantastic location, and now I know that it has great light even up until sunset in the valley.

Okay one last thing I want to share about this session, It was so much fun to work with Cameron and Kiersten. They were playful, and very good at letting me know what they still wanted to do and how they’d like to change things up. But my absolute favorite thing was something Kiersten said. She kept talking about how fun it was to be taking engagements and then she added this:

“I’m falling even more in love taking engagements!”

Isn’t that the best?
